PDAs are handheld computing devices also called Palm Tops; they can also encompass the Pocket PC category of handheld device.</STRONG></P><BR><P><STRONG>The  PDA started off as electronic personal organizers, an electronic replacement to the old analogue (hand-written) style Day Runner or Franklin.
